The Laser and Photonics Research Center is a specialized research center dedicated to the development and study of laser and photonics applications in various scientific and technological fields. The center aims to foster innovation and provide advanced technological solutions through both applied and fundamental research in laser science and photonics technology.
The center is composed of two main departments that complement each other in research and development:
Laser and Spectroscopy Department
This department focuses on the study of laser physics and the development of various laser sources, in addition to applying spectroscopy techniques to understand the optical and physical properties of materials. Research in this department includes areas such as pulsed lasers, laser-material interactions, and spectroscopic analysis for environmental, industrial, and medical applications.
Sensing and Nanophotonics Department
This department is concerned with the development of high-precision optical sensing systems and the study of nanophotonics techniques, which open new horizons in areas such as communications, sensors, and smart materials. It focuses on designing innovative nanostructures and advanced applications in biological and chemical sensing.
The center works to enhance research collaboration with academic institutions and industrial centers both locally and internationally. It also strives to offer training programs and workshops to support researchers and students, aiming to build a generation of competencies capable of driving innovation in the fields of laser science and photonics.
