As part of the research centers evaluation program, the Director of the Laser and Photonics Research Center, Professor Muna Youhanna Sliwa, received a ministerial committee on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, assigned to assess the Center’s scientific and institutional performance. The visit was attended by the heads of departments, administrative and scientific divisions, as well as research and administrative staff members.
The ministerial committee included Dr. Sinan Hossam Mahdi, Assistant Director General of the Department of Research and Development, accompanied by Dr. Firas Maen and Dr. Marwan Abdulrazzaq.
During the visit, the committee reviewed a comprehensive report presented by the Center’s committee, highlighting its most significant completed scientific activities, in addition to applied projects submitted to various state institutions.
The visit concluded with a field tour of the Center’s facilities, including its laboratories and technical units. The committee also examined the 2025 evaluation form and reviewed the Center’s research indicators and the supporting capacities that enhance its scientific research environment.
